Haladhar to lead Odisha Ranji team
After a brief break, promising batsman and wicket-keeper Haladhar Das has been named once again the captain of Odisha’s Ranji Trophy squad for the match against Karnataka on Tuesday.
Das took over the 15-member Ranji Team’s charge by replacing Natraj Behera, who sustained rib injury during net practice.
Behera was advised by doctors to take rest for at least 10 days, a release of Odisha Cricket Association said.
The match against Karnataka will be played at the Railway Stadium here on Tuesday.
OCA had recently lifted ban on Das and included him in the State Ranji squad on November 24. He had been dropped from the team on disciplinary ground last month on the eve of Odisha’s match against Punjab at Mohali.
Subit Biswal has been included in the team in place of Behera, said OCA secretary Asirbad Behera.
We will play the match in a positive attitude and stick to our strength. We will depend on our pace bowlers, state coach Debasis Mohanty told reporters here after their net practice on Monday.
We are not taking Odisha team a lighter team, but we play every match in a motive to win.
So fare our young players perform well and many are having good score in this season. We missed Vijay Kumar but senior player Rabin Uthaapa who is in good touch.
This pitch look like a grassy one if we win the toss will go for fielding and tray to restrict host team innings in 250 runs, said captain Ganesh Satish.
